As per red Jimmy, the saga continues with the ANC government persisting on changing well-known town names. Pretoria has never had it's name changed except for the fact that the region was renamed to Tswane. Yet the SABC continuously report on it as Tswane (and not Pretoria).

Jan Lambrecht definitely got the right information on the pro-ANC reporting done by the SABC. Rightly so as the old National Party did exactly the same in the old days. Maybe not to the same extent in that all news reports must be cleared by government before broadcast! Search Africancrisis.org for Cliff Saunders and see what was said.

The ANC government of course realised a long time ago the power of the media. To such an extend newspaper crime campaigns get shot down (ala FNB) and TV adverts get banned (ala Sowetan newspaper) for no apparent reason except for not interrupting the continuous brainwash they subject us to. Rainbow nation, land of opportunity, blah blah bloody blah! Anything that's aimed at making the nation sit up and think is labeled as undermining the nation building effort of the ANC.

Their arrogance is starting to pee me off. And so it should the whole South African nation. Simple example, look at the DA web site. They offer goods for purchase to help fund the party. So does the SACP. What about the ANC? A simple "donate" button! This might be trivial in many peoples' eye but it's the small things that say "we care about our people, we don't expect anything for nothing, we are here doing this with your help, (add more here)____________________".

They claim that name changes are for the sake of reconciliation. To remove "offending names" they replace it with vain ministers family names and with those who are / were self-confessed terrorists. Persons who blew up innocent civilians and attacked churches with automatic weapons and hand grenades. They're not interested in changing names of remote locations, out of the public eye (like a hill on Marion island) but instead concentrate on the main centers just show the whitey who is in power.

Officials in high positions transgress all the time and get off lightly or never get brought to book. If it wasn't for the tiny bit of press freedom still being maintained and fought for they would bring this country down in record time.

There are some wonderful organisations in this country, doing marvelous and outstanding work for the sake of a unified South Africa. But is it all in vain? Are they pawns being manipulated by the ruling government? Or is there something more in it for them other than knowing they're doing something good? I would like to believe the latter. In fact, some efforts are genuine and noble and it would be so sad to see everything they do come to nought at the end of the day.

We have a beautiful country worth fighting for..

So bugger all the plots and games government likes to play with our lifes and lets unite!

And the big question is posed by Liezl in this Afrikaans song..

Let's have your ideas -
