It's happened. JZ is the new president of the ANC. By a big margin. The card carrying members of the ANC have spoken. But that's not the only surprise. In their wisdom they decided to increase their executive committee members from 60 to 84? More people want to have a say in the distribution of wealth?

Zuma has a couple of bridges to cross, the biggest being the National Prosecuting Authority's case of fraud against him. Of course the ANC youth league wants this to be dropped - immediately. The second biggest in my opinion is the rebuilding of his reputation. Not of being a traditional Zulu with four wives, but silly remarks about serious issues like Aids and women wearing short skirts. Are we moving back to pre-civilization?

My biggest concern over the whole ANC election issue is Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. The voters showed their strength and wishes for a new era in South Africa by voting their people into power, and heaven helps the white people with Winnie in such a position of power. What are the reasons for this? Are we going back to a "matches and tyres" culture of kangaroo courts and justice outside our courts?

There are various issues with the new National Executive Committee members. The ANCYL has also become way too powerful with their leftist views for the good of South Africa as a whole.

Mbeki (it seems) never operated independently from the ANC NEC. The NEC decides on the future of South Africa.

The ANC must be stopped. Voting in 2009 should be "against" and not "for". A two-thirds majority after 2009l spell danger.

Then again, these are my views as an enlightened conservative. I don't really buy into Uhuru but prefer to be prepared rather than ignoring it all. Suidlanders (the DVD) is aimed specifically at white Afrikaners but serves as a warning to all whites in South Africa. Keep yourself informed and be prepared.
