So much has happened in the past two weeks. First we were without a president, then some cabinet ministers resigned. Even Trevor Manuel jumped on the bandwagon only to be coaxed back into the fold.

The Zuma ANC showed their militancy at their conference in Mpumalanga and the Mbeki followers knew their time was coming to a close. Their gravy train tickets were expiring and the devil may care attitude changed to one of disbelief and horror. The untouchables knew their time had come.

Once Mbeki got ordered to resign his followers (mostly) followed. They knew there was no place under Zuma for them.

Should a ruling party be this strong? I suppose "the people" voted the party into power and thus it's only logical that the party calls the shots. But when such party runs fowl of Malemas and Vavis, where will it all end? At least one Zuma beneficiary will get his "get out of jail free" ticket soon. And I'm sure others will follow.

Mbeki did not do much for this country. His own name and international reputation was top priority, and who knows what lies in store for him. But his people suffered. With his "garlic and beetroot" health minister sidekick they probably put this country back a couple of years.

Zuma knows about HIV/Aids. Firsthand. He knows about the pitfalls of women crying foul when he exercised his Zulu tradition and rights. He knows about bribery and corruption. He knows who to trust and who not. He knows the people that can make life very comfortable for himself. He also knows how to charm the people and say the right things. He even showed that he can talk to the growing number of poor whites.

I for one is hoping for better leadership and understanding from the Zuma man. I'm also hoping for action and not just words. I'm hoping that he will keep his followers in their place. Here's hoping that threats of throwing him out if he does not heed the militants' calls will come to naught.

The ANC has been very quick in replacing those who followed Mbeki. Of course resignation is much better than getting fired, there's a state pension at stake here after all. Some morons have been displaced of and new ones appointed (time will tell who the new morons are) but the guy in charge of Gauteng will be big shoes to fill. Shilowa has made a big impact on South Africas business hub, probably the most diverse province in the whole country.

Our interim president obviously has little input into these matters as the ANC show their intolerance of Mbeki supporters and enforce their will and choices on these matters.

In the meantime their concern in loosing support has them scrambling for favour of the people. Street names are steamrollered through, so are hospital names. "Pride has no price" says the man in charge of changing Coronation, Baragwanath and Johannesburg hospitals names. History though earns it's place and as far as I'm concerned has priority over fallen heroes. Could you really call someone who lead a march to the Union Buildings in 1957 a hero?

ANC heroes are mostly criminals. People that would be branded and discarded by any modern society. People who killed and maimed innocent bystanders where-ever and whenever the opportunity arise. Now it's the younger generation who's taking over.

And while all this is happening South Africans are still getting robbed and killed by criminals. The murder and slaughter of white farmers continue. One wonders sometime if it's not a plot by some political party to slowly phase in another Zimbabwean situation without giving the white man the opportunity to leave alive. But we don't hear too much of that in the news anymore. It's gone quiet whilst these killers still carry on.

A policeman told a robbery victim the other day that robbers are professionals and just practicing exactly that. For that reason we should accept the fact that we will get robbed as these people also need to work.

And the newspapers can't stop haggling about white guys that had enough of a black woman's' whinge-ing at a rugby game and shoved her around a bit?
