The US elections seems to have rejuvenated local interest in politics. One simple reason why South Africa will never be on par with America -

Obama
Zuma

Look what the Americans are getting compared to our possible future! And of course, when this happens in your country -

ThaboMbeki

Enough of that..., a new political party has been formed. Thabo made sure that he made it clear to the ANC that he was not consulted on his possible role in the November 2009 elections. A nicely worded letter spelled out exactly how and what he feels. He also made sure that Zuma understands that the political revolution must continue.

In typical communist talk he kept referring to "comrades" and the "revolution". My goodness, these guys have been in power for fourteen years, what revolution are they referring to? To change this country into a communist landscape? Are they aware of the fact that communism has failed all over the world?

Another point Thabo made sure the ANC understands and that's the glorification of individuals within the party. Communism has seen people like Stalin being glorified, so what's the problem with Zuma getting the same treatment? The ANCYL are prepared to kill for him. Is this bad? Sure it is. As Mbeki wrote, the party is stronger and more important than any individual. Their cause and their ongoing revolution even more so. Still don't know what revolution he kept referring to..

So, Obama won. Did he offer too many nice things for the people to resist? Let's face it, the candidate who offers more will win the vote. Who cares at this stage if the candidate can deliver? And with what resources? He made a promise. And that's the same all over the world as far as politics are concerned.

Here at home the ANC government are very busy "looking after" the people. They know they have a fight on their hands. They know they have a history of broken promises. They know that they've been given ample time to deliver on those promises. But what will the new party offer?

Lekota & kie are disgruntled ex-ANC members. Ask yourself this question - are they out for revenge or do they really have a plan?

Let's have your ideas -
